Springs Girls' High School has embarked on an initiative to assist two taxi drivers in Springs who started donating bread and milk to the families of men seeking work on the side of various roads in Springs. When we saw their story, published in "The Advertiser" a few weeks ago, we decided to add our own contributions. At the end of the first week of SGHS Milk and Bread Drive, we raised R1245,90. This amount was contributed by learners across the grades and staff members. The contributions were used to purchase 42 cartons of milk and 42 loaves of bread. We also managed to get 15 cartons of milk through additional donations. Our total contribution for week 2 was R852. We bought 5X6 packs of milk and 28 loaves of bread. We also received an additional nine cartons of milk and one loaf of bread from donations. Thank you to all who continue to contribute weekly towards helping those in need. Let us keep this drive going at least until the end of October.
